Georgina Banfield was born South London. Her Mother is from Trinidad and her Father from Ghana. Educated in catholic primary and secondary schools, she went onto study performing arts and English Literature and attended South Bank University to study for a Bachelor of Education.

Georgina did her first  reading of one of her poems as part of a Love Poetry Hate Racism event in London. She was so broken by the event that she has sought perfection ever since by reguarly attending open mic readings and poetry slam sessions.

She is currently writing a themed collection of poems and this summer will be performing her poetry over a two night period, alongside visual artists, dancers and musicians in a ‘theatrical’ space in the East End of London. She will also be reading in Ireland this summer. Two of her poems have recently been recorded as part of a collection with Scottish musician Malcolm Fisher (based in Milan).
