Marilyn Ricci
Marilyn Ricci was born in Leicestershire to parents who came from South Wales and the North East of England. She left home at seventeen, married, had a daughter and worked for the Open University for many years, returning to Leicester in 2002.
Her work has won prizes and appeared in anthologies and many poetry journals, including Orbis, Smiths Knoll, Envoi, Iota, Poetry Nottingham and The Interpreter’s House. Her first pamphlet collection, Rebuilding a Number 39 was published by HappenStance in 2008. She also writes drama.
Marilyn is a member of Leicester Poetry Society and the Leicester-based women’s poetry group Soundswrite, both of which offer encouragement and support she does not know what she would do without.
