Pomegranate: Amy Blakemore and Carl Griffin

Posted by Alex Pryce on Jan 17 2009 | foyleyoungpoets, london, welsh, pomegranate

This post is part of an audio issue collaboration with an online poetry magazine publishing poets under 30, Pomegranate. All poets included are reading one poem which has already featured in Pomegranate, and one new poem.

Amy Blakemore has been writing poetry ’seriously’ since beginning GCSE English Literature. She is a South-East London girl, attending Bacon’s college, which boasts as former students Miss London 2007 and Jade Goody. She has been published in Rising and Iota. She was a Foyle Young Poet of the Year 2007. She hopes to begin studying at Oxford University this year.

Carl Griffin is 23 and lives in Swansea, Wales. He has been writing for eleven years and has eyes on Bloodaxe but is aware he’s a long way off. He is a massive fan of the poet and novelist Stephen Dobyns and is suspicious of any poem shorter than at least six lines.
