Simone was born in Tenby, Pembrokeshire but moved away as a child, and was educated in Berkshire and Brighton, (where she read English at Sussex University). She is now based in West Wales, living on a farm and running a centre for holidays, workshops and courses.

Since 2005, Simone’s been longlisted, shortlisted, commended and placed in various competitions, been published in anthologies, (Leaf Books, Ragged Raven, Cinnamon Press, Templar), and in magazines, (Boomslang, Carillon, Envoi, Iota, The New Writer). She won first prize at Winchester Writers’ Conference in 2007. Simone chairs a local writers’ group, is a member of two others. She also organises and co-hosts a successful monthly spoken word night in Cardigan, (‘Word Up’) and regularly reads at others in Wales. She leads creative writing workshops, and has been heard on radio, at festivals and in slams.

In 2008, Simone produced a pamphlet of 27 poems called Not exactly getting anywhere but… described by Phil Carradice as ‘finely observed poems, verses we can all identify with and enjoy…poems to make you think…well worth a read.’
